Recently I was scouring the children's section of a bookstore in search of some books for my little cousins. It was a tremendous way to spend an afternoon, filled with nostalgia and excitement for new children's stories. I saw that Suzanne Collins, of YA hit
The Hunger Games, had written
other books for a slightly younger audience. I also noticed that
Carl Hiaasen had a whole bunch of books too. This got me thinking and here,

Langston Hughes'
First Book of Jazz looks beautiful! Very Picasso-esque.
Some others:
Know of any others? I would be very interested in reading some of these.

I knew about the Hiaasen books, but not about the others. This is pretty cool. When I have kids I can indoctrinate them young.
Kurt Vonnegut?!?!? wrote "Sun, Moon, Star" I wouldn't have expected it to be about Jesus' birth. Seems to get mixed reviews.
I was surprised at first when Neil Gaiman started doing books for younger readers.
By the way, someone did a sequel to Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. The review sounded pretty good.
Also, I heard the author of "The Casual Vacancy" wrote a YA series.
