What are you currently reading?
I'm reading Russell Banks' The Lost Memory of Skin. It's about a convicted sex offender on parole. Banks has given Kid, the protagonist, a great voice; you are simultaneously sympathetic and repulsed. But, it took a VERY long time to get into. 20% in, you finally start moving forward with the story.
Oh, sweetness! I read Alif the Unseen. WONDERFUL book. About a computer hacker living in a security state in the middle-east. But, there is adventure, and education, and a magical fairyland. True. That happened in those pages. Okay, maybe they weren't fairies. . .but they were genies and all kinds of creatures. My post on it here.
What do you think you’ll read next?
I finally whittled down the library pile. Right now, next up should be Hilary Mantel's Pulitzer Prize (that'd be her FIRST Pulitzer, the second coming this past year) winning Wolf Hall. I generally don't like period pieces, so we'll see how I do with it.
And now, I present to you, CAT. Fuzzy, evil-planning cat. She was a runner up for Dr. Evil. She still isn't over that rejection.

I am reading Caleb Carr's Legend of the Broken... it is literally a physically heavy book... I do not recommend falling asleep holding it!

Hi Well Read Fish
Thanks so much for coming by and wanting to keep up with my blog. I want to keep up with yours too ... btw, I want to read Wolf Hall as well - and yes, it's being adaptated! HBO and BBC are combining forces.
